Congress Continues to Surprise

Its nice to know that with all the pressing issues going on in the world and here at home that we have the United States Congress. While we should be concerned with taking care of issues like immigration, gas prices, foreign dependency, terrorism, and a handful of other important issue, we instead have Congress coming together to apologize for slavery. THANK GOD FOR THAT.

Ok enough sarcasm. What the hell are they thinking. Should we honestly be worrying about something so unimportant? Or should we continue to support the politically correctness that is tearing this country apart? It blows me away to think that they are still caught up on this slavery thing and the whole "Jim Crow" bullcrap. Yea we know it was horrible, but guess what, it was abolished for a reason.

Its not enough that several states already apologized for this very thing, but no it needs to be done on a federal level to show how serious they are about it. Nothing else is as important as making them feel better about something that happened over 50 years ago. Congress not only apologized, but they also committed itself to stopping "the occurrence of human rights violations in the future." And I'm curious what they are going to do to back that up.

Just wait until they start handing out reparations for slavery to all the people who weren't actually slaves. Then who will pay for that? The people who weren't even involved in the ownership of slaves, that's who.

America just keeps getting better and better WOOOOHOOOO.

House apologizes for slavery, 'Jim Crow' injustices.

Now I Know Why People Love Casinos

I never understood the man in movies who sat at the casino for hours losing money as his family went hungry. I never understood the man who came home to his wife late at night and informed her of the thousands of dollars he lost at the casino.

Now I do. And the reason is that CASINOS ARE THE SHIT.

I turned 21 last Monday and went over to the Argosy Casino with a friend and my brother. It was some of the most fun I have ever had. Now I understand why people gamble their lives away.

Speaking of 21, the game that attracted me the most was BLACKJACK. I am now hooked, I spent hours at the $5 blackjack table winning, losing, winning more, and losing more. I felt so alive being able to bet $5-$20 a hand and not caring. Sitting there with all those other people trying their luck against the dealer. It was such a great experience. I loved the commerce and the conversations. I met so many people and it was just a fun atmosphere. Seeing that Ace dealt to you and hearing the people around you saying "Good luck on that Ace". I could have stayed there all night sipping on my Maker's Mark and Coke.

One thing that I found interesting was how the dealers switched out. They would do the hand waving thing and you felt like your luck was so much different with this new person. I went through so many dealers, they all had their own personality which made it that much more interesting. Walt, Tom, Tim, Marie, and so many others. It was truly an experience that I will need to relive soon.

Diablo 3 - Hell Yes

Recently Blizzard announced Diablo 3. As a big fan of the Diablo series, I was very pleased to hear this. I heard rumors of its creation and I knew it was coming, but to know that its official and to actually see the trailer and game play footage, got me very excited.

Diablo was one of the first games I ever played on the PC. The days back on battle.net where you could play online and PvP (remember all the hacks that were available?). I even had it for the Playstation.

When Diablo 2 came out me and my buddies played for countless hours stocking gems, armor sets, and doing Baal run after Baal run (and then doing a Taco Baal run). We even came back to the game after a few years to enjoy it all over again. Blizzard always seems to deliver stellar games.

Now with Diablo 3 announced, there is no doubt that I will be playing. If you haven't checked out the Diablo 3 page on Blizzards website, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by how awesome it looks. As an amateur graphic designer, seeing Tyrael there in all his glory just about made me crap my pants. He looks amazing and just absolutely stunning. I...I... I'm in love.
